Terms of service

Early access #

XOtale is in early access. Features will change, some will arrive later than planned, and the service may sometimes be unavailable while we work on it. We will tell you about changes that affect you.

Holding a link #

• Holding a link, such as alex-sam.xotale.com, is free. It lets you claim that link first when the builder opens to you.
• A hold is not ownership and not a guarantee. The link belongs to XOtale and you may use it while your hold or your gift site is active.
• We may limit how many links one person holds.
• We may release a hold if you don't reply to our emails about it within 60 days, if the email bounces, if a hold is made in bulk or by automated means, or if it breaks these terms.

Reserved words #

Some words can't be used in a link: words we need for the service, our own brand, other people's brands, offensive words and words we keep back for later. We decide which words are reserved and may add to the list at any time. If a link you hold later turns out to break this rule, we may ask you to choose another.

Acceptable use #

Don't use XOtale to:

• post anything illegal, or anything that harasses, threatens, sexualises minors or promotes hate or violence;
• pretend to be someone else, or suggest you are XOtale or speak for it;
• share private photos or information about someone without their consent;
• upload content you don't have the right to use;
• send spam, or try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the service.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that do any of these things.

Your content #

What you put in your gift site stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people you share your site with, only to run XOtale. You are responsible for what you upload and for having permission from the people in it.

Ending things #

You can release your link or delete your account at any time on your account page, or by emailing support@xotale.com. We may suspend or end your use of XOtale if you break these terms, or close the service with at least 30 days' notice, giving you time to save what you made.

Liability #

We work hard to keep XOtale running and your content safe, but we provide it as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data you could have saved yourself, or problems caused by things outside our control. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Changes to these terms #

When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we email you before it takes effect. If you keep using XOtale after that, the new terms apply.
